What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Visual Designer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Visual Designer, you need a strong foundation in design principles, typography, color theory, and proficiency with a degree in graphic or visual design. Mastery of tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and familiarity with digital platforms or prototyping tools like Figma is essential. Creativity, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills set outstanding visual designers apart. These skills ensure the creation of compelling visuals that effectively communicate ideas, align with brand goals, and engage target audiences.

How do visual designers typically collaborate with other teams during a project?

Visual designers frequently work alongside UX designers, developers, and product managers to ensure that the visual aspects of a product align with the overall user experience and technical requirements. Collaboration often involves participating in design reviews, providing assets, and iterating on feedback from different stakeholders. Clear communication and openness to feedback are crucial, as visual designers must balance creative vision with practical constraints and user needs. This collaborative environment helps ensure cohesive, visually appealing, and user-friendly final products.

What is visual design?

Visual design is a field focused on the aesthetics and graphical elements of a product, website, or digital interface. It combines principles of graphic design, color theory, typography, and layout to create visually appealing and effective communications. Visual designers work to ensure that interfaces are both attractive and functional, enhancing user experience by guiding attention and conveying brand identity. Their work often overlaps with UI design, but visual design prioritizes the look and feel rather than the structure or usability alone.

About the Role:

We're looking for aย Visual Designer with a strong understanding of businessย to help shape how our company communicates visually. This role goes beyond "making things look good", you'll design visuals thatย support business goals, tell clear stories, and influence decisions.

Your primary focus will beย PowerPoint presentations and business graphics, with opportunities over time to contribute toย website design and product UI.

You'll work closely with leadership, product, and go-to-market teams to translate complex ideas into clear, polished, and effective visuals.

What You'll Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Designย executive-level PowerPoint decksย for sales, customers, partners, and investors
  • Createย business visualsย (process flows, system diagrams, data visuals, frameworks)
  • Help structure presentations so theyย tell a clear business story, not just slides
  • Develop and maintainย templatesย for decks, one-pagers, and internal docs
  • Supportย office and brand design needsย (signage, printed materials, internal visuals)

Growth Areas

  • Assist withย website designย and visual updates
  • Contribute toย UI designย for product interfaces and dashboards
  • Partner with engineering and product teams on design handoff and iteration
  • Help evolve the company'sย visual and brand system
What We're Looking For

Design Skills

  • Strong visual design fundamentals (layout, hierarchy, typography, color)
  • Advanced experience withย PowerPoint
  • Proficiency inย Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools

Business Mindset (Important)

  • Strong understanding ofย business conceptsย (strategy, go-to-market, metrics, workflows)
  • Experience designing forย executive audiences
  • Ability to turnย complex or abstract ideas into clear visuals
  • Thinks in terms ofย outcomes, clarity, and persuasion, not just aesthetics
Nice to Have
  • Background inย business, consulting, finance, or startups
  • Experience working with leadership teams
  • Exposure toย product or UX design
  • Familiarity with Webflow or design systems
Why This Role
  • Direct exposure to leadership and strategic initiatives
  • High impact on how the company communicates and presents itself
  • Opportunity to grow intoย web and product UI design
  • Ownership over business-critical visuals, not just marketing assets
