Systems Engineer 1 - (RF, Python, Visual Basic)

Clearance: TS/SCI - Polygraph required
Position ID: 08-8841-SE1
Location: Fort Meade, Maryland

Description:

Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement.

Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.

Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.

Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288.

Position Required Skills:

  • Experience with coding Python and Visual Basic for applications
  • Strong experience in applying RF theoretical and academic knowledge in EMI testing unintended emissions within HF, VHF, and UHF spectrum
  • Familiar with RF tools (network analyzers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes) and components (amplifiers, filters, isolators, attenuators, terminators, etc)
  • Formulating and documenting test plans
  • Draft and issue technical recommendations through formal test reports
  • Specify and/or review system and component technical performance requirements to ensure optimal functionality while meeting E3 noise electric field limit.
  • Collaborate internal and external agency stakeholders to ensure technical support enables the E3 Program and customer mission requirements
  • Must be able to travel 3 times per year for 7-10 days at a time

Position Desired Skills:

  • Experience in electromagnetic compatibility testing, electromagnetic interference mitigation, and/or antenna calibration

SE1 Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus one (1) year of systems engineering experience.

Twelve (12) credit hours of college coursework in one (1) or more of the ISO/IEC 15288 Technical Process Areas may be substituted for the required one (1) year of systems engineering experience.

A High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area) may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

Salary Range: **$108k-$132k (Annually)

**The range displayed above is a likely salary range for this position. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possible contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
