Job description

The Visual Merchandising Manager oversees the strategic execution of store visual merchandising, creating compelling displays and presentations that reflect brand identity, engage customers, and drive sales performance. This role works closely with the store team to ensure overall store presentation is elevated, tailored to the store's unique needs, and standards are rigorously maintained. This is an exempt position, with monthly bonus eligibility.

What you will do

  • Demonstrate a high level of ownership, accountability, and initiative in achieving store objectives and driving the accomplishment of key metrics.

  • Direct and support team with strategic installations and floor setups for special events, seasonal campaigns, and weekly storewide promotional events to enhance customer shopping experience.

  • Lead team in timely execution of daily visual maintenance, adjustment of accent lighting, and layering in additional visual elements to optimize presentations in high-impact areas.

  • Coordinate organization and storage of visual collateral, signage, mannequins, hardware, tools, and other visual elements to promote efficiency. Confirm accuracy and condition of all inbound visual components, fixtures, and supplies.

  • Collaborate with merchandising, selling, and operation leaders to align on product, promotion, and pricing strategies. Lead weekly store walkthroughs to assess visual merchandising standards and directive execution and identify opportunities to elevate presentations.

  • Participate in weekly leadership workload planning meetings to ensure all visual assignments and tasks are prepped, planned, and scheduled, while ensuring execution plan aligns with company priorities and processes. Utilize visual directives to determine required labor hours.

  • Build comprehensive team knowledge of visual merchandising directives, guidelines, and standards, ensuring associates are trained to execute effectively, consistently, and on-brand. Model behaviors that foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and a strong drive for results.

  • Set and communicate clear team priorities and expectations. Enhance individual and store results through regularly reviewing associate performance, conducting meaningful coaching conversations, and embracing opportunities to continuously teach and develop.

  • Support filling open positions timely through recruitment, interviewing, and facilitating team career development conversations to build ready-now bench of store talent. Oversee associate onboarding experience, ensuring structured onboarding completion.

  • Support asset protection initiatives by effectively managing shortage control in designated area, ensuring compliance with asset protection, safety guidelines, and security protocols.


Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to successfully apply analytics, experience, and judgement to make timely and effective business, people, and profitability decisions.

  • Skills and experience to perform in the role and a commitment to continuously learn.

  • Ability to develop others through mentorship, effective communication, and side-by-side coaching.

  • Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision in a deadline-driven environment.

  • Communicate with excellence.

  • Comfortable with technology, including smart phones, tablet computers and Windows-based operating systems.

  • 3+ years of experience in Visual Merchandising or Retail Management

  • Available to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must regularly move around all store areas and be accessible to customers.

  • Must bend, reach, stretch for product as well as lift, carry, and move at least 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work with paint, climb ladders, carry props, and work with visual elements at heights.
