About the Opportunity

A rapidly growing retail company specializing in tools, hardware, equipment, and home improvement products is seeking a Visual Merchandiser to support its Houston retail location. This role will play a key part in enhancing the in-store customer experience through effective store presentation, merchandising execution, and layout optimization within a large-format retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute in-store visual merchandising strategies to enhance brand presentation and customer experience
  • Design and optimize store layouts to highlight key products and promotional areas
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards across all departments
  • Optimize merchandising plans based on sales trends and promotions
  • Coordinate signage, displays, fixtures, and presentation elements throughout the store
  • Support store resets, seasonal transitions, and promotional setups
  • Train and support store associates on merchandising standards and presentation expectations
  • Partner cross-functionally with store leadership and support additional operational initiatives as needed

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of visual merchandising, retail merchandising, store presentation, or space planning experience preferred
  • Experience within large-format retail, home improvement, warehouse-style retail, showroom, or big-box retail environments strongly preferred (examples include Home Depot, Lowe’s, Target, Walmart, Floor & Decor, IKEA, Academy Sports, etc.)
  • Strong visual presentation, spatial planning, and customer flow optimization skills
  • Understanding of merchandising principles with a data-driven mindset
  • Experience with planograms, merchandising execution, displays, and promotional setups preferred
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on retail environment
  • Proficiency with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Canva, or similar platforms is a plus
