REAL Journey Academies (RJA) is a Non-Profit charter school management organization designed to significantly increase college entrance and graduation rates for underserved students in the Inland Empire. We aim to impact and revitalize communities through the development of e education and other supportive partnerships.
Jo Job Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of the Operations Manager/Director, the function of the Nutrition Services Coordinator position is to manage all aspects of the school's meal services, assist with general office duties and campus supervision as appropriate.
Es Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Operations Manager/Director in directing and guiding the food services personnel and all aspects of operations at the site.
  • Direct the Food Services Coordinator
  • Manage adherence to student food allergies and dietary restrictions.
  • Assist in the planning of preparation of breakfast, snack, and lunch.
  • Assist in set up, serving, and clean-up of food on counters, and on other equipment.
  • Sanitize, clean, and disinfect kitchen/cafeteria equipment.
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment, appliances and utensils safely.
  • Assist in the preparation of a variety of foods.
  • Manage inventory and verify expiration date on foods.
  • Help in preparing meal set-ups.
  • Oversee all aspects of the meal process - the distribution of meals while maintaining serving times.
  • Monitor the site's ordering procedures including emergency orders, add-ons, and cancellations.
  • Coordinate and implement program changes and related services.
  • Plan and implement the meal program.
  • Ensure the kitchen is organized and designated areas are ready to accommodate the different functions.
  • Ensure compliance with the State Food Safety regulations.
  • Ensure proper accounting by collecting daily breakfast/lunch counts and updating the meal reporting system.
  • Estimate needed quantities, place orders, receive and inspect food and other supplies.
  • Ensure all food service items are stored in the designated area. Label appropriately all items that belong to food service.
  • Practice proper hand-hygiene.
  • Maintain clear, concise, and accurate reports and records.
  • As needed, supervise Food Services Coordinator enforcing work production standards, and providing input for evaluating work performance
  • Act as liaison between the Food Services Coordinator and Operations Manager/Director
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work well with students.

  • Knowledge of Food Services procedures, policies, and rules.
  • Experience with PowerSchool Point of Sales or comparable software.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, manage, coordinate, implement, oversee, and evaluate site-wide food service programs.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all Food Services Coordinator, Operations Manager/Director, and administrators.
Mi Minimum Requirements:
  • 1 year of experience in a school food service setting
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Bilingual in Spanish[1]
  • Food handler's certificate
  • Proficient in word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Must be flexible, positive, detail-oriented, team player, patient and willing to learn.
Ph Physical demands:
  • Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending, stooping, and reaching for extended periods of time.
  • Occasional computer work including but not limited to typing.
