Job description

The Voluntary Services Assistant serves as the Center for Development and Civic Engagement (CDCE)/Voluntary Service Assistant of the facility's CDCE. They will be reporting directly to the CDCE Chief. Due to the cross-cutting nature of this office, the incumbent shows a general understanding of the federal government, VA, and each of its Administrations, with a primary focus on VHA.Qualifications:To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 08/28/2026.
Specialized Experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-5) in the Federal Service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of a Voluntary Services Assistant - CDCE/Voluntary Service Assistant position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying specialized experience includes orders and maintains necessary level of needed forms and office supplies; maintenance of office records and files; Compiles data for reporting purposes; experience inputting data into a computerized database; experience recording and managing physical items such as donation; and utilizing interpersonal communication skills which foster effective working relationships.
SCREEN-OUT ELEMENT: Your qualifications will first be evaluated against the prescribed screen out element, which usually appears as question 1 in the on-line questionnaire. Those applicants who appear to possess at least the minimal acceptable qualification requirement are considered for further rating; those who do not are rated ineligible and are eliminated.
