MOREHOUSE COLLEGE, ATLANTA, GA. The Division of Science, Technology, and Mathematics (STEM) invites applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Psychology. We invite applicants from all subdisciplines of psychology, however, we are particularly interested in those with experience teaching in clinical psychology and evidence of a program of research that will be pursued as a faculty member. The successful applicant's responsibilities will include teaching and advising undergraduate students, supervising student research, and participating in the life and culture of the Department. Candidates must have a doctorate in psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) and show evidence of excellence in teaching and research. Applicants should submit a letter of interest, statement of teaching philosophy, curriculum vitae, and graduate school transcripts (unofficial will be accepted) to Interfolio. Complete applications should be received by December 1, 2026. Applicants should instruct three referees to submit letters of recommendation to Interfolio. Required Qualifications
Candidates must have a minimum of a doctoral degree (Ph.D., Psy.D) in psychology
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Education/Experience Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of foundational and applied psychological theory, research, and practice within and across a specified subdiscipline of psychology
  • Ability to use and teach SPSS and/or R statistical package
  • Knowledge of current pedagogical best practices and evidence-based instructional strategies appropriate for undergraduate learners
  • Ability to design and deliver engaging, inclusive course instruction aligned with departmental learning outcomes and institutional standards
  • Ability to develop clear, well-organized syllabi and course materials that meet institutional requirements and support student success
  • Skill in assessing student learning through varied and appropriate evaluation methods, with a commitment to providing timely, constructive feedback
  • Ability to maintain accurate grade records and meet all institutional reporting deadlines
  • Skill in communicating effectively with students through scheduled office hours or equivalent means, demonstrating responsiveness and accessibility
  • Ability to work independently and manage course responsibilities with minimal supervision in a part-time, at-will instructional role
  • Knowledge of and commitment to academic integrity policies and all applicable institutional regulations
