Job description

The Warehouse Manager will provide leadership to the branch and manage a variety of general warehouse activities in an accurate, efficient and cost-effective manner.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for managing the overall operations of the facility including supervising team members, monitoring expenses and overseeing P&L functions.
  • Create and ensure a safe workplace and promote a culture of safety for the facility
  • Partner with internal leadership team (Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Logistics) to maximize profitability, efficiency and to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Lead recruitment and onboarding to hire top talent to improve the organization.
  • Develop associates to become leaders of tomorrow by coaching, counseling and motivating associates to attain optimum performance, productivity levels, and associate morale.
  • Provide effective communication and promotes teamwork among the team to aid in the accomplishment of the department objectives.
  • Ensure that all Company and Human Resources policies and practices are communicated to the team members and practiced consistently.
  • Accountable for compliance to all federal, state, local regulatory guidelines to include OSHA Standards and DOT regulations.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 5 years' related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5 years' experience in Warehouse Department management preferably managing a unionized work force
  • Knowledge of local, state and federal OSHA safety and FMCR regulations
  • Experience in forklift certification and inspection, hazmat certification, operating various warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, stock pickers, etc.)
  • Must be able to lift, as needed, heavy objects (occasionally between 60-75 lbs.) with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must be able to work regularly at a height of up to 26 feet above the ground (with provided safety equipment/processes/training)
  • Must have strong leadership and organizations skills
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule with a "hands-on" management style
  • Must be detail orientated and a team player; Excellent oral and written skills; excellent organizational skills and driven to excel
  • Spanish Bi-lingual skills a plus
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous AS400 exp a plus
