Job description

The Implementation Engineer II is responsible for planning and executing technical projects for managed services clients. This individual works closely with clients, vCIOs, Support Engineers, and Project Managers to deliver solutions that align with business objectives while maintaining a high standard of quality and documentation.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and takes pride in seeing projects through from planning to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and configure Microsoft 365 environments
  • Execute server, storage, and infrastructure migrations
  • Implement and maintain virtualization platforms
  • Deploy and upgrade network infrastructure including firewalls, switches, and wireless solutions
  • Lead workstation deployment and technology refresh projects
  • Perform client onboarding and technology standardization projects
  • Assist with cloud migration initiatives
  • Create and maintain accurate technical documentation
  • Collaborate with Support Engineers to ensure successful project handoffs
  • Participate in project planning, scoping, and technical design discussions
  • Provide advanced troubleshooting during project execution
  • Communicate project progress and technical findings to clients and internal teams
  • Follow established project management and change management processes

Technical Qualifications

Required:

  • 3 to 5 years of IT infrastructure experience
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server
  • Understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper V
  • Strong networking fundamentals including routing, switching, and wireless technologies
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred:

  • Experience in a Managed Service Provider environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience with security and compliance implementations
  • Industry certifications such as Microsoft, CompTIA, VMware, or Cisco
  • Experience with cloud migrations and hybrid environments
