Job description

Overview

Sierra Lobo, offers customers a full range of professional and technical capabilities, including Test and Evaluation, Systems Engineering, and Advanced Technologies.  We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems.  Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

This position will be located at NASA's White Sands Test Facility in Las Cruces, NM, in the Technical Services Department.

This is a modified full-time position (30+ hours per week).

Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides support to project testing with high-speed imagery and/or industrial videography, including use of 4K, GoPro, and other video cameras. Must have strong knowledge of camera equipment, including audio/visual cabling, lighting and sound. Must be able to process and edit high-resolution imagery and provide video and still imagery upon completion of testing.

Must be able to design and create IT-based multimedia products for various platforms that combine text with sounds, photos, graphics, video-clips, virtual reality, and digital animation. Works on special assignments as needed.

Responsible for researching and understanding project requirements, conceptualizing plans, identifying industry trends, and keeps current with latest multimedia technologies. Develops strategies to optimize operations.

Must be able to communicate with all levels of a team and provide effective reviews, recommend improvements, and prepare samples for customer approval. Prepares and conducts briefings or presentations as required.

Troubleshoots equipment and resolves technical issues, as needed, and documents subsequent revisions to procedures.

Manages video archives.

Keeps management informed on project status and concerns.

Position Challenges:

Provide management with innovative ideas to continually improve products while reducing cost.

Supervisory Guidance:

Receives general direction regarding objectives, priorities, and technical approach. Must be able to work both independently and lead projects.

Resources:

Must adhere to project timelines and budgets, including the company's policies and regulations.

Qualifications

BA or BS degree in the appropriate discipline plus five (5) to ten (10) years of progressive and relevant experience. Additional relevant education may be substituted for progressive experience. Strong storytelling ability through visual means. Must be proficient with various multimedia software, such as Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge and use of Corel Draw and Painter is a plus. Must understand digital media standards, such as various file formats, compression techniques, and optimization for different platforms and devices, including ensuring multimedia is accessible to all users. Strong knowledge of camera equipment, lighting, and sound.
