Purpose of Job:ย 

To provideย supplementalย instructionalย supportย inย the development of each studentโ€™sย Social Studiesย skills as the foundation for success in high school coursesย whileย collaborating withย the educationalย staffย contributing to successful student achievement.ย ย To provide on-site direct support to the site staff and students in the overall management and operation of the school, ensuring a safe and effective learning environment.ย Assistย with a wide range of tasks, including overseeing student discipline and fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.ย

Active Student and Parent Communicationย ย 

  • Communicate regularlyย with studentsย (daily)ย and parentsย (monthly)ย to keep the student progressing toward academic success, including, but not limited to, providing progress reports, class expectations, student participation rates and when needed, arrange/supportย student/parent teacherย conferences.ย ย 

  • Establish andย maintainย a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust,ย understandingย and respect for the communities in which theyย identify.ย ย 

Teaching / Tutoringย ย 

Quality Courses and Instructionย ย 

  • Utilize GOALย establishedย guidelines for quality course structure and instructional practices.ย ย 

  • Provideย high-qualityย virtual (live and recorded)ย instruction to individual students and small groups.ย 

  • Create an onlineย classroom environment andย adhereย to theย research-based program of study that is conducive to learning andย appropriate toย the maturity and interests of theย students.ย 

  • Plan and useย appropriate instructionalย and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students.ย 

  • Applyย instructional strategiesย to meet the needs of individual students throughย differentiationย to appropriately serve their learning plans, including, but not limited to, IEPs, ELPs, ALPs, andย 504s.ย 

  • Supportย theย implementation ofย schoolย platforms, assessment tools,ย and data management systems.ย

  • Utilizeย data to provide intervention instruction to students and to bring their skills to grade-level.ย

  • ย Maintain complete andย accurateย grading and gradebooks in the GOAL LMS (Schoology).ย

Experience:ย ย 

  • Three to five years of experience working in a school or school systemย preferred.ย 

  • At least two years of experience working in a high school with at risk youthย preferred.ย ย 

  • History of advanced knowledge of differentiated instruction, knowledge of different learning styles and challenges, and the ability to apply them toย intervention studentsย in a blended learningย environment.ย 

  • Demonstratedย proficiencyย inย a teaching/tutoring capacity.ย 

  • Comprehensive knowledge of instructional strategies and the role of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).ย 

  • Demonstratedย proficiencyย in the design and implementation of academic interventions preferred.ย ย 

  • Advanced knowledge and/or experience of instruction, testing, data analysis, and curriculum development.ย
