Job description

Location: Hattie Mae White Department: Virtual Launchpad Area:District Wide Contract Months:10 Salary Range: $64,000.00 - $89,500.00 Academic Year: 26-27 POSITION SUMMARY Provide high-quality virtual instruction in Algebra I and Algebra II aligned to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) and STAAR End-of-Course (EOC) standards within the HISD Virtual Launchpad program. Design and deliver rigorous, standards-based synchronous and asynchronous instruction that develops algebraic reasoning, mathematical modeling, problem-solving skills, and procedural fluency. Monitor student engagement and academic progress, provide timely and actionable feedback, and collaborate with program leadership to ensure instructional fidelity, compliance with district and TEA requirements, and measurable academic growth in a structured virtual learning environment

ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES 1. Deliver rigorous Algebra I and Algebra II instruction aligned to TEKS and STAAR EOC standards (Algebra I). 2.

Design and implement engaging synchronous virtual lessons and structured asynchronous learning modules. 3. Modify and adapt curriculum for virtual delivery while maintaining academic rigor.

4. Incorporate problem-based learning, real-world applications, and mathematical modeling tasks. 5.

Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students receiving accommodations. 6. Support Algebra II students in developing advanced algebraic reasoning aligned to college and career readiness standards.

7. Monitor attendance, assignment completion, and mastery of mathematical concepts. 8.

Maintain accurate gradebook records and provide timely, actionable feedback. ILLUSTRATIVE DUTIES CONTINUED 9. Support students in developing problem-solving strategies and independent learning skills.

10. Analyze formative and summative assessment data to inform instructional decisions. 11.

Monitor student readiness for STAAR EOC (Algebra I). 12. Participate in grading cycles, progress monitoring meetings, and instructional reviews 13.

Participate in virtual PLC meetings focused on data analysis and instructional planning. 14. Collaborate with Virtual Launchpad leadership and fellow core teachers.

15. Communicate regularly with families regarding academic progress. 16.

Participate in professional development aligned to virtual mathematics instruction and TEKS updates. 17. Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS TYPE OF SKILL AND/OR REQUIRED LICENSING/CERTIFICATION Software HTML Microsoft Office Certifications/Licensure Teacher Certification Equipment Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier) LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES Level 1-No supervisory responsibilities. May provide occasional work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff. WORK COMPLEXITY/INDEPENDENT JUDGMENT -Work is substantially complex, varied and regularly requires the selection and application of technical and detailed guidelines

Independent judgment is required to identify, select, and apply the most appropriate methods as well as interpret precedent. Position regularly makes recommendations to management on areas of significance to the department. Supervision received typically consists of providing directions on the more complex projects and new job duties and priorities.

BUDGET AUTHORITY -No budget development activity is required. Education Bachelor's Degree Master's Degree optional Experience 1 to 3 years Other Requirements PROBLEM SOLVING -Decisions are made on routine matters affecting few individuals and usually within the confines of the job's -Decisions are made on both routine and non-routine matters with some latitude but are still subject to approval. Job is occasionally expected to recommend new solutions to problems and improve existing methods or generate new ideas.

IMPACT OF DECISIONS -Decisions have moderate impact to the facility/department or division, causing increased satisfaction or dissatisfaction; producing efficiencies or delays; promoting or inhibiting personal intellectual or professional development; and/or contributing to financial gain or expense. Errors may be serious, usually not subject to direct verification or check, causing losses such as improper cost calculations, overpayment or improper utilization of labor, materials, or equipment. Effects are usually confined to the organization itself and is short term.

COMMUNICATION/INTERACTIONS -Collaborate and solve problems - work with others to resolve problems, clarify, or interpret complex information/policies, and provide initial screening/negotiations without approval authority. Interactions are typically with customers, senior level professional staff, and managers. CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS -Takes routine or required customer actions to meet customer needs.

Responds promptly and accurately to customer complaints, inquiries and requests for information and coordinates appropriate follow-up. May handle escalated issues passed on from coworkers or subordinates. WORKING/ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS -Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
