Virtual Sleep Consultant Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Loyal Source Government Services is currently recruiting one (1) Full-Time Sleep Medicine Physician to provide virtual sleep medicine services for The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Centers.

The selected physician will be onboarded through the Greater Los Angeles VA Medical Center and will deliver comprehensive sleep medicine care to Veterans through telehealth platforms.

Job Summary: The Sleep Medicine Physician provides high-quality, compassionate care to our Veteran population while maintaining strong productivity, accuracy, and performance standards in support of the VA community. This role is committed to delivering consistent, patient-centered sleep medicine services and ensuring excellent clinical outcomes.

Duties:

• Manages comprehensive sleep disorders and manages related medical conditions causing or contributing to the sleep disorder(s)
• Completes all new and established scheduled outpatient in person and synchronous telehealth visits.
• Performs direct patient care as requested by VHA but specific division of synchronous care (clinics) and asynchronous care (sleep study interpretation, electronic consultations, and remote therapeutic monitoring). The expectation is the provider will complete new patient visits within 60 minutes and follow up visits within 30 minutes.
• Completes all mandatory setting-specific suicide screening for new patients in accordance with national guidance.
• Complete sleepiness and insomnia questionnaires where hypersomnia and insomnia are relevant to the patient visit.
• Appointment days and times may vary based on the needs of the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System.
• Evaluates patients (including physical examinations as necessary), orders appropriate testing and facilitates order completion.
• Monitor status and completion of test results, reviews results, and discusses management plans with patients across a broad range of indications.
• Documents all patient interactions in electronic health record (EHR). Providers will type their own notes into the EHR. EHR entries will be completed in the timeframe mandated by the patient's VA facility, typically within 24 hours of the clinical encounter.
• Communicates appropriately with Veteran's providers regarding sleep testing, follow-up and management to ensure coordination of care.
• Functions efficiently and respectfully within a multidisciplinary and interprofessional sleep team.
• Appropriately documents and communicates all ordered test results to patients and providers within a timeframe consistent with VHA policy (within 14 days of availability of results or sooner if clinically indicated).
• Tracks completion of tests ordered and responds to inquiries and requests from schedulers as needed (e.g., for modifications to orders).
• Maintains board certification, meets CME requirements and practices within scope of privileges.
• Follows all medical center policies, rules and regulations.
• Participates in organization/team meetings as requested, not to exceed 5% of time allocated for administrative work.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and security of operations.
• The medical center utilizes a computerized medical record system. The provider must be familiar with personal computers, be comfortable with completing medical evaluations by tele video, have adequate typing skills to perform data entry (consultation/progress notes), and be able to navigate through Windows-based computer programs. Remote training on the computerized medical record system and on the video conferencing platform will be provided by the medical center.
• Systems-Based Practice-Complies with safety, security, and privacy policies, arranges proper clinical coverage during planned absences, and complies with hand-off communication policy.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to provision of care.

Qualifications:

• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia where the Veteran resides.
• No history of license restriction, suspension, revocation, voluntary surrender, or denial of licensure.
• Board Certified/ Eligible in Sleep Medicine through the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Sleep Medicine Physician.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or equivalent.
• Current DEA certification with expiration date provided.
• Fluency in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and comprehension.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency in Sleep Medicine with the ability to independently perform all assigned clinical duties.
• Active medical licenses in multiple states.
• Current state medical license in one of the following priority states: Florida, Massachusetts, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, California.

Additional Information:

• This is a fully remote position.
• Work schedules are determined by clinic needs and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
• Shifts will be scheduled between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM in the applicable U.S. time zone.
• No overtime or on-call requirements are associated with this role.
