JOB DESCRIPTION
• About Facility:
o 201 E. Grover St, Shelby NC 28150
o 241 licensed beds
o Level 3 Trauma
o Teaching Hospital? No
o Certified Chest Pain Center
o Stroke Center
o Radius rule: Traveler's permanent address must be 50 miles outside of home unit
• Unit Information:
o Beds: 32
• Census? Average patients/day? 32
o Minimum Years of Experience required? 18 months Med/Tele RN experience
o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
• Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Stroke, Respiratory Illnesses: Flu/Pneumonia/COVID, Renal Failure, Peritoneal Dialysis, Wounds, etc.
• Patient Ratios:
o RN: 1:5-6; surge staffing could have ratios of 1:7-8
o LPN (if applicable): 1:5-6; surge staffing could have ratios of 1:7-8
o CNA: 1:10
• Required Licensure & Certifications:
o RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
