Job description

Position Summary

The Recruiter will support the Talent Acquisition team in recruiting and hiring employees for a fast-growing solar module manufacturing facility in College Station, Texas. This position will have a strong focus on high-volume hourly manufacturing recruitment, while also supporting professional, technical, and administrative hiring needs.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on recruiter who enjoys high-volume hiring, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and takes ownership of getting the right people hired and onboarded on time.

Essential Responsibilities

Recruiting & Talent Acquisition

  • Recruit for high-volume hourly production positions, including Production Operators, Material Handlers, Warehouse, Quality, and other manufacturing roles.
  • Drive the third-party agency process with direct engagement with production supervisors and agency to ensure proper and adequate talent flow.
  • Act as on site HR support for any employe relation issues with the agency employees
  • Handle HR related issues with the staffing agency's employees.  
  • Source candidates through job boards, social media, employee referrals, recruiting events, community organizations, staffing partners, and other channels.
  • Review resumes and applications and conduct phone, virtual, and in-person screening interviews.
  • Assess candidates based on qualifications, experience, availability, shift requirements, and position-specific criteria.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of qualified candidates to meet current and projected staffing requirements.
  • Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers.
  • Communicate with candidates throughout the recruiting process and provide timely updates.
  • Extend offers and coordinate pre-employment requirements in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Support new-hire onboarding and orientation activities.
  • Maintain accurate candidate and recruiting activity in the applicant tracking system and HR systems.
  • Ensure recruiting documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with staffing agencies to supplement direct-hire recruiting efforts and meet production staffing requirements.
  • Attend and support career fairs, hiring events, open houses, and community recruiting events.
  • Develop relationships with local colleges, technical schools, workforce organizations, and community partners.
  • Help promote the company's employment brand and career opportunities throughout the local community.

Manufacturing Recruiting

  • Develop a strong understanding of solar module manufacturing operations and the positions required to support plant production.
  • Partner with Operations, Production, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other departments to understand workforce requirements.
  • Develop recruiting strategies based on production schedules, staffing targets, turnover, and anticipated workforce needs.
  • Recruit candidates for multiple shifts and be comfortable discussing shift schedules, attendance expectations, physical requirements, and manufacturing work environments.
  • Help identify candidates who demonstrate reliability, safety awareness, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a production environment.
  • Track recruiting metrics such as applicants, interviews, offers, hires, source effectiveness, and time-to-fill.
  • Identify recruiting challenges and recommend solutions to improve candidate flow and hiring results.

Candidate Experience

  • Serve as a professional and knowledgeable point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Provide candidates with accurate information regarding job responsibilities, pay, schedules, benefits, hiring requirements, and the work environment.
  • Create a positive candidate experience that reflects the company's culture and commitment to its employees.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to candidate questions and concerns.
  • Ensure candidates understand next steps and required onboarding activities.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of recruiting or talent acquisition experience preferred.
  • High-volume hourly recruiting experience strongly preferred.
  • Manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, logistics, or production recruiting experience is a plus.
  • Experience recruiting for multiple shifts is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent recruiting experience may be considered.
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and HRIS.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple open positions and meet aggressive hiring deadlines.
  • Strong interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with hiring managers and HR team members.

Work Environment

This is an onsite position in a fast-paced solar module manufacturing facility in College Station, Texas. The Recruiter will primarily work in an office/HR environment but may regularly enter manufacturing and production areas.

The position requires the ability to work effectively in an active manufacturing environment and follow all applicable facility safety requirements and PPE requirements when entering production areas.
