Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the charge nurse of the unit is responsible for performing clerical and receptionist duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Prepare for preoperative check-in of patient on the day of surgery.

Aware of patient rights.

Demonstrate flexibility in managing the workload.

Maintain accurate inventory of unit supplies.

Assume responsibility for receptionist activities.

Assist with taking surgery bookings.

Maintain and upgrade information into hospital communication system.

Assist with HMS entry.

Assist with emotional needs of patient and family members.

Transport specimen.

Recognize and respond to priorities in patient care.

Adhere to dress code policy.

Fulfill staff development requirements.

Understand emergency procedures and protocols.

Responsible for patient and employee safety as it applies to their work environment.
