Job description

Tipping Point Solutions (TPS) is seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and creative professional for an immediate "Rapid Developer" position with the Learning Innovation Branch (LIB) on Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Candidate will work on an integrated team with Instructional Designers, subject matter experts, courseware and multimedia developers to create engaging and effective customized learning products, using sound instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies to support residential classroom and online learning environments.


The on-site "Rapid Developer" will be expected to work within established project processes, collaborate with team members, and meet project deliverables by designing and presenting detailed storyboards, as well as effectively manage client relationships throughout the instructional design and development process.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the instructional integrity and educational effectiveness of all training materials produced.
  • Design and develop instructional products in a Rapid Production setting.
  • Create detailed design documents which support all terminal and enabling learning objectives identified for each lesson, and which clearly and effectively communicate the instructional plan for each lesson to the customer.
  • Demonstrate understanding of adult learning principles, and how they best apply to educational products and technological solutions.
  • Apply proven eLearning engagement and motivation strategies, to include (but not limited to): case studies, simulations, practical exercises, and scenario-based knowledge checks, as applicable.
  • Design performance-based, measurable assessment items which directly align to the learning objectives.
  • Develops additional interaction templates as required.
  • Develops strategies for integrating premium film content into courseware interactions.
  • Assists the development team with the conceptual design of new interactions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, team members, and clients in all phases of the ADDIE process.
  • Maintains current knowledge of eLearning industry and technologies.
  • Adhere to accepted style guide practices and collaborates with Quality Assurance Specialists in all phases of the ADDIE process.

Desired Experience:

  • Firm understanding of the ADDIE system of design and evaluation.
  • Demonstrable experience in designing and storyboarding distance-based learning.
  • Basic understanding of design principles including layout, color theory, typography, and UI/UX.
  • Maintain current knowledge of eLearning industry and technologies.
  • Experience in developing eLearning assets and lessons - in collaboration with Programmers/Graphic Artists and/or independently. This includes graphics, animations, videos, simulations, assessments, interactive games and other learning tools using a wide range of technologies.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management System workflows, including beta/alpha/usability testing and eLearning distribution.
  • Experience with HTML5 Development.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Eligibility for government security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in education, training, or as an educator in a certified teaching discipline.
  • Experience preference towards addressing the educational needs of adults for distance/distributed learning
  • Education must include at least 24 semester credits focused on either: educational research, learning theory, education technology, instructional design or other related education themed courses. Courses focusing on the administration or fiscal requirements of education related organizations do not count towards the credit requirement.
  • Experience in rapid eLearning authoring tools, such as Adobe Captivate, Articulate Studio, Articulate Storyline, and/or other content authoring tools.
  • Proficiency in additional design and development tools such as Photoshop, Audition, After Effects, Illustrator, Indesign, etc. is a plus.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic and flexible environment where priorities and deadlines may change.
  • Attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to interface with Subject Matter Experts and Senior-level personnel.
  • Experience in a Government contracting environment is a plus.
