Position Overview
A leading mechanical contractor is seeking a Project Manager to lead mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through close-out. The role focuses on delivering mechanical systems on time, on budget, and to quality and safety standards while coordinating with owners, design teams, contractors, and trades. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and construction experience and a track record managing commercial, healthcare, or K-12 projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage mechanical construction projects through all phases: preconstruction, procurement, construction, commissioning, and close-out.
- Develop, monitor, and control project schedules, budgets, and forecasts; drive on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Coordinate mechanical design and installation activities including HVAC, piping, and plumbing with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and trades.
- Serve as primary client contact; maintain strong owner and stakeholder relationships through regular updates, meetings, and progress reports.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, contract requirements, building codes, and safety regulations; enforce site safety and quality standards.
- Conduct site coordination meetings, progress inspections, and quality assurance checks; identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Manage project close-out, commissioning, O&M documentation, warranty tracking, and punch-list completion.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical construction project management experience, with successful delivery of commercial, healthcare, or K-12 projects preferred.
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, piping, and plumbing.
- Strong experience with construction processes, scheduling, budgeting, change management, and contract administration.
- Proven ability to manage subcontractors, vendors, and multi-discipline teams on active construction sites.
- Proficient with construction management software and tools; experience with Procore and Bluebeam is a plus.
