Position Overview
The Project Engineer III is a senior technical expert and project leader responsible for overseeing complex engineering assignments, guiding cross-functional teams, and ensuring the technical excellence of deliverables. This role plays a key part in client engagement, staff mentorship, project strategy, and business development efforts.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage geotechnical and materials testing engineering projects from planning through design and construction phases
  • Prepare and review geotechnical, materials testing engineering reports, proposals, and technical specifications
  • Perform geotechnical analyses including foundation design, settlement analysis, slope stability, earth retention systems, and ground improvement solutions
  • Oversee subsurface exploration programs, including drilling, sampling, and laboratory testing
  • Provide engineering recommendations for shallow and deep foundations, retaining structures, pavements, and site development
  • Conduct field inspections and site visits to monitor geotechnical construction activities
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, architects, and other engineering disciplines
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and field staff
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal preparation and client relationship management
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, industry regulations, and safety protocols
  • Review project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to ensure successful project completion
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Construction, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's preferred)
  • 10+ years of engineering experience with increasing responsibility.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required
  • Demonstrated expertise in engineering design, project management, and client interaction.
  • Proficiency in technical software and tools used in the engineering discipline
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and business acumen.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and teams across locations.
    Travel Requirements
    • This position requires moderate travel, approximately up to 40% of the time, in support of business
    objectives and client engagements. Travel may be both scheduled and on short notice, depending on
    project needs. Destinations typically include job sites, field locations, or regional offices, where work may
    be conducted in outdoor or operational environments. Adherence to all company safety protocols and
    use of PPE is required during travel and on-site work.
