Is AI replacing proofreaders?

AI tools are increasingly used to assist proofreaders by identifying grammar, spelling, and style errors, but they do not fully replace human proofreaders. Human oversight remains essential for nuanced editing, context understanding, and maintaining quality standards in proofreading jobs. Proofreaders who adapt by integrating AI tools and developing strong editing skills can continue to find employment in the field.

How much do online proofreaders make?

Online proofreaders typically earn between $10 and $30 per hour, depending on experience, skill level, and the complexity of the work. Many work as freelancers, setting their own rates, while some are employed by companies with fixed salaries or hourly wages.
