Job description

Description

Build the machines that turn methane into energy.

At Qnergy, we design and build Free-Piston Stirling engines that convert wasted methane into reliable, clean power used around the world, from landfills to oil fields to remote industrial sites.

We're looking for a Production Specialist who enjoys building things that actually matter. If you like working with your hands, solving mechanical problems, and being part of a team that ships real technology into the field, this is your kind of role.

You'll work side-by-side with engineers, technicians, and production teammates to assemble and test the equipment that powers our global customers.

 What You'll Do
This role is hands-on. You'll be assembling real equipment, solving problems, and helping keep production moving.
You will:

  • Assemble mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems from engineering drawings.
  • Read blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to build products to specification.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and production equipment to complete assemblies.
  • Assist with fabrication, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of Qnergy products.
  • Support both prototype builds and production manufacturing.
  • Perform quality checks and testing to ensure assemblies meet production standards.
  • Maintain production records, logs, and inspection documentation.
  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and identify issues early.
  • Track inventory of tools, parts, and supplies and coordinate with materials when needed.
  • Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other production team members to improve processes.

Requirements

What Makes Someone Successful Here

The best people in this role are hands-on problem solvers who take pride in building quality equipment.

You likely bring:

  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions.
  • Basic understanding of electrical or electronic components.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve assembly issues.
  • Comfort working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, or mechanical experience preferred.
  • Experience reading technical drawings or schematics is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • This is an active production floor role.
  • Standing for extended periods while assembling products.
  • Frequent use of hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to distinguish colored wiring and components.

Why Qnergy

  • Build real technology that reduces methane emissions.
  • Work alongside engineers and technical experts.
  • Be part of a company pushing clean energy innovation.
  • Opportunities to grow into higher-level technical and production roles.

What We Offer

Qnergy invests heavily in its people. Here's the quick version:

Health & Wellness:

  • Four medical plans (PPO + HDHP/HSA) on the Cigna network
  • 100% covered preventive care + $0 virtual visits
  • Strong dental and vision coverage with no waiting periods
  • Qnergy-funded HRA + employer HSA contributions

Financial Security:

  • 401(k) with 100% match on the first 4% you contribute, plus discretionary match potential
  • Fully employer-paid short-term and long-term disability
  • Company-paid life + AD&D (2 salary)
