Bright Road Recovery is an innovative eating disorder treatment program with an exceptional multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping individuals achieve lasting recovery.
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated PRN Registered Nurse (RN) to provide nursing services across our Residential Treatment Center (RTC), Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and Outpatient (OP) levels of care. The RN works under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) and collaborates with Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs), physicians, psychiatric providers, therapists, registered dietitians, and support staff to provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based care.

Schedule
- PRN (Per Diem) position
- Expected availability: 1224 hours per month
- This position is designed to provide coverage for staff vacations, sick leave, leaves of absence, and other staffing needs.
- Additional shifts may be available based on patient census and operational needs.

Essential Responsibilities
- Reports directly to the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON).
- Collaborate with Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care and appropriate delegation within the RN scope of practice.
- Provide nursing care to patients from admission through discharge.
- Complete nursing assessments, admission histories, and health screenings.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized nursing care plans.
- Administer medications safely and accurately as prescribed.
- Perform daily nursing assessments, vital signs, blind gown weights, and ongoing medical monitoring.
- Monitor intake and output and implement fluid protocols as directed.
- Identify changes in patient condition and promptly communicate concerns to the treatment team and medical providers.
- Carry out physician orders and document interventions accurately and timely.
- Provide medication education and health education to patients as appropriate.
- Assist with medical emergencies and administer first aid when necessary.
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and collaborate in patient care planning.
- Facilitate therapeutic and psychoeducational groups as assigned.
- Provide meal support and nutritional supplementation during supervised meals.
- Count and manage controlled medications according to policy.
- Coordinate care with physicians, psychiatric providers, therapists, dietitians, pharmacies, and outside medical providers as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including admission assessments, nursing notes, treatment planning, and discharge documentation.
- Support a therapeutic, respectful, and recovery-oriented environment.
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission standards, state regulations, and Bright Road Recovery policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license (Required)
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- BLS Certification (Required or obtained upon hire)
- Minimum one year of nursing experience preferred
- Experience in behavioral health, psychiatry, residential treatment, or eating disorder treatment preferred
- Experience with electronic health records and medical documentation preferred
