Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a NICU II/III position requiring EPIC experience and an active SC or compact RN license.
Job Details
• Work in the NICU providing care to neonates 22 weeks gestation and greater,
• Care for diagnoses including abdominal wall defects, HIE, RDS/RFS, drug exposure/withdrawal, hypoglycemia, sepsis, TEF, duodenal atresia, diaphragmatic hernia, urethral stenosis, myelomeningocele, and ROP,
• Perform specialized procedures such as full body cooling, chest tube management, surgical repair of non-cardiac anomalies, tracheostomy management, and Avastin administration/laser eye surgery,
• Utilize specialized equipment including Artic Sun, Blanketroll, Jet Ventilator, HFOV, Draeger Ventilator, HFNC, Bubble CPAP, Alaris, Philips central monitors, B Braun and Infinity feeding pumps, Atom and GE dual incubators, Draeger Caleos, radiant warmers, external shunts, and ostomy supplies,
• Uses Pyxis/Omnicell for unit medication system,
• Documentation completed in EPIC EMR,
• Night shift schedule with 4x12-hour shifts (1900-0730) with no call, or 3x12-hour shifts with call requirement of at least one 12-hour call shift bi-weekly,
• Weekend coverage required every other weekend unless facility needs change,
• Float to other NICU units or facilities as needed,
Job Requirements
• Active SC or compact RN license required,
• Current BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required,
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required,
• NICU II and NICU III experience required,
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC EMR experience required,
• Prior travel nursing experience required,
• Patient ratio experience of 1:2,
• Skilled in IV therapy, blood/blood product administration, arterial line management, central line care and blood draws, UAC/UVC management, and neonatal medication administration including anti-seizure meds, antibiotics, antivirals, and vasopressors,
• Experience with neonatal dosage calculations, steroids, and surfactant administration,
• Competent in APGAR scoring, developmental care, thermoregulation, and patient/family teaching,
• Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, HFNC, HFOV, chest tube management, and tracheostomy care,
• Experience with GI conditions such as NEC, gastroschisis/omphalocele, and post abdominal surgery care,
• Knowledge of neonatal sepsis management and infection control precautions,
Additional Information
• Provide comprehensive neonatal intensive care to a complex patient population ranging from extremely premature to term infants,
• Support development care practices and family-centered education,
• Complete pre-assignment testing and required modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials,
• Attend orientation held every Monday along with annual compliance training,
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position,
• Must reside more than 100 miles from any Prisma Health facility to be eligible for full travel pay rate, with reduced rate for 90-99.9 miles
