Maria Parham Health, a Duke LifePoint Hospital, is the region's healthcare provider, offering comprehensive services supported by skilled physicians, nurses, and clinical specialists. Maria Parham also offers state-of-the-art physical, occupational, and speech therapy on an outpatient basis, ensuring patients receive high-quality, accessible care close to home.

The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver therapy services in an acute rehabilitation setting. This role implements individualized treatment plans to help patients improve mobility, restore function, and maintain physical independence following illness or injury. The PTA monitors patient progress, communicates updates and potential changes to the supervising therapist, and ensures safe, effective care delivery. Responsibilities include patient and caregiver education, assisting with discharge planning, and maintaining accurate documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards. The patient population primarily includes adult and geriatric individuals requiring comprehensive rehabilitation services.

Applicants should have:

  • Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program
  • Current Physical Therapy Assistant state licensure
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR certification
  • Inpatient Rehabilitation, Acute Care, and/or Outpatient setting experience preferred
