JOB DESCRIPTION:
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Prescribes and follows routine maintenance plans for facilities, amenities, and greenspace of the parks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs basic custodial functions for the facilities, amenities, and greenspace of the park including set up and cleaning for daily activities and events.
  • Responsible for street cleaning, parks cleaning, painting, debris removal, landscaping, grooming greenspace areas.
  • Operates various equipment, including blowers, Weed Eaters, shovels, and related attachments used at work sites.
  • Regularly checks equipment to ensure proper use.
  • Maintains inventory of equipment/tools, and institutional supplies.
  • Engages in snow removal for facility entrances and parking lots during the winter.
  • Assists City personnel, as necessary, for the operation of the street department and Parks and Recreation Department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Working knowledge of all applicable safety precautions related to and the ability to safely operate mechanical equipment, power equipment, and other tools necessary for the job.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level
High school education or equivalent.
Years of Experience
Minimum knowledge equivalent of three years of related experience in the principles and practice of either facility maintenance (carpentry, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc) or park maintenance (landscaping, turf management, irrigation, etc).
Certification/Licensure
Valid Indiana Driver's License.
