Manager Pharmacy Operations

The posted compensation range of $66.26 - $98.56 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. As our Pharmacy Manager, you will be a strategic leader and clinical authority, orchestrating safe, efficient, and patient-centered pharmaceutical care delivery. Every day, you will lead and supervise the pharmacy team, meticulously reviewing and authorizing prescriptions for safety (interactions, dosing, allergies). You'll oversee efficient workflow, from authorization to dispensing, and consult with doctors and nurses to troubleshoot medication issues. To be successful in this role, you will possess comprehensive clinical expertise, proven leadership, and an analytical mind for process optimization. Your commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and patient safety will drive our pharmacy's success.

  • Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of pharmacy operations and shares clinical initiatives responsibility with Clinical Pharmacy Manager if applicable
  • Assists in performance evaluation and competency assessment of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians
  • Collaborates with health care providers to individualize medication therapies to promote safe, efficacious, and cost-effective patient care following best practices and evidence-based guidelines
  • Develops and provides educational programs, learning modules, and knowledge assessment tools Actively participates in medical staff and service line meetings to meet patient care needs
  • Educates other health care professionals regarding medications to promote optimal patient care via in-services, educational programs, face-to-face interactions, etc
  • Supervises the purchasing, storing, preparation, and dispensing of all medications and parenteral products in compliance with state, federal (340B), USP Chapter <797> and <800> guidelines, department policies, and manufacturer's guidelines
  • Trains and participates with Disaster Team drills and real-event responses as assigned
  • Maintains appropriate controlled substance records
  • Works with the Pharmacy Director/VP to identify and develop processes to meet or exceed all controlled substance diversion prevention and monitoring standards
  • Supervises and assists pharmacy technicians and other support staff effectively
  • Works with the Director of Pharmacy/VP and Pharmacy Clinical Manager, if applicable to establish, implement, and monitor pharmacy goals and objectives
  • This position may serve as the Residency Program Director as applicable

We are offering relocation and $25k sign on bonus to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is required. Advanced or Master's degree preferred (e.g., Pharm.D.).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Pharmacist in an acute care setting.
  • Doctor of Pharmacy with minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Pharmacist
  • Masters with a minimum of 1 year in a leadership position or pharmacy residency completed
  • Pharmacist AZ license
  • Registered Pharmacist license. Oversight for an acute care facility requires licensure in the state in which you practice.
