Effective organization and regular check-ins help maintain productivity and client satisfaction.

Creating a professional resume highlighting these skills and applying through online job platforms or freelance websites can help you find opportunities. Job description

Digital Marketing Assistant
In this opportunistic position at SSDM, you will be presented with a mix of responsibilities and learning opportunities. Your day will be about ยผ filled with Operations responsibilities (more detail on this below), but these will be interwoven with on-the-job training. As the weeks pass, you will be tasked with increased levels of involvement and responsibility within the Digital Marketing side of our business. You will be given the opportunity to learn and investigate your interests and abilities among a wide variety of digital marketing skillsets. This is an immense opportunity. SSDM is willing to invest in your training. You will begin your journey with us at the front desk and be there for a minimum of 6 months. At that point, we will evaluate your readiness and the workload opportunity for you to move away from the front desk and into the office with our team as a junior level client experience coordinator.
Interview Process:
1st Interview - Phone call with head of Operations. If there seems to be a good fit, we will invite you to a virtual meeting.
2nd Interview - Virtual interview with members of our leadership team. If this goes well, you may be sent personality evaluations to take prior to your next meeting.
Final Interview - In-office with Owner and CCO. Once all interviews are complete, the SSDM leadership team will align on their preference and extend an offer. We will try to communicate with those not selected via email.
Management and Performance Evaluations: Your front desk duties will be trained and overseen by our Operations Supervisor and your marketing growth will be overseen by owner, Nick Skislak. You will participate in check-in sessions at:
  • 30 days
  • 60 days
  • 90 days
  • 6 months

At twelve months we will conduct an annual assessment, which will clarify how we are feeling about your performance and growth, as well as give you an opportunity to tell us what interests you, what you have enjoyed learning most and where you see yourself growing to next (if that has not been firmly established at the 6 month check-in).
On the Job Expectations:
  • Lead with a positive attitude. This is first on the list intentionally. As the face of SSDM (a role filled by both genders over the years), it is imperative to us that your attitude reflects the positivity and excitement-to-serve that is the hallmark of our company
  • You manage workloads and time well, juggling priorities efficiently and being highly respectful of time constraints and punctuality. Given your hybrid between marketing and operational tasks, this expectation is paramount
  • Complete accurate time tracking on a DAILY basis. Confer with your manager when you're unsure of how to allocate time appropriately
  • Display confidence and communicate well to others. Expectation is that this skill set will grow with time as it relates to business communications
  • Effectively use company resources
  • You will dedicate yourself to learning as much as you can as quickly as you can. Periodically you will demonstrate your newly learned knowledge/skills to your manager and leadership by proactively scheduling time on their calendars to present your learnings...and any questions or suggestions
  • Are a highly motivated self-starter
  • Lean toward being a doer, meaning you are inclined to take on work yourself. You will, however, be expected to begin to build your comfort level and skill at delegating and managing via others (as directed by managers)
  • Are inherently collaborative and embrace teamwork and team spirit
  • Embody enthusiasm and passion for producing exceptional work for our company and our clients
  • Are solution minded. If something isn't ideal, you do not complain. You present the shortcoming alongside a proposed solution.
  • Have a tendency to ask quite a few questions (meaning you are eager to learn and often want to go as deep as possible).

Overall Responsibilities:
  • Handling incoming calls and other communications
  • Going through Google training and attempt to get certified on Performance and/or Analytics within the first 4-5 months
  • Learning WordPress CMS to the point that you can post and tag blogs (you will receive training and tasks to aid in this)
  • Learning Email functionality and begin to learn automation building in Constant Contact ((you will receive training and tasks to aid in this)
  • Learning to draft blogs utilizing an SEO creative brief and AI (you will receive training and tasks to aid in this)
  • Learning how to initiate creative, plan and analyze social media posts (you will receive training and tasks to aid in this)
  • Assisting the CX team with managing projects in Wrike (you will receive training to aid in this)
  • Proofreading and quality checks, assuring that all copy is accurate and well written (spelling & punctuation), that images display well and are as approved by our client/team (you will receive guidelines for each proofing/QA project)
  • Greeting clients and visitors to our offices
  • Managing and communicating to the entire team their monthly Chipworthy totals (you will be trained on this)
  • Ordering lunches as needed and helping to manage all details around client visits and other agency events
  • Writing and sending a weekly email that summarizes the items presented during our Monday am mtg (you will receive training and tasks to aid in this)
  • Updating our intranet with revised and new information, as needed
  • Updating paperwork, maintaining documents and word processing, as needed
  • Taking the lead on organizing and maintaining (including dust/vacuum on occasion)our office common areas
  • Performing general office clerk duties such as getting mail and running errands (with mileage reimbursement)
  • Organizing travel by booking accommodations and reservations as required.
  • Assisting in the coordination of events, as requested
  • Maintaining supply inventory (paper, ink cartridges, pens, etc.) and office equipment as needed

Attention to detail, a curiosity so sincere that you cannot help but ask questions (often) and the ability to prioritize and finish tasks in a timely manner are all highly regarded attributes for this position.
Hours:
The hours of this position are 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with a half hour lunch. Wednesday is a WFH day for most of our team, but leadership often comes into the office. Because of this, your in-office days will be determined week to week, but you will occasionally work from home on Wednesdays. You will be assigned work and/or training for those days.
Compensation:
Salary: $40,000
Every team member receives annual profit sharing, beginning on your first day. You'll be 20% vested your first full year, increasing annually until fully vested at year five. Profit-sharing distributions are paid out in December as a lump sum-above and beyond your salary.
We offer several medical plan options with SSDM contributing to premiums, plus dental and vision coverage.
Access to multiple 401(k) plan types, with a company match of up to 3% of your contributions. Available after your 90 days of employment.
Paid Time Off (PTO): 10 days annually, available after 90 days of employment.
Paid Holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day
Growth Plan:
The career path for this position is in Customer Experience (account management). At SSDM, the Customer Experience role is considered the "tip of our spear" and one of the most valued. Additional specialties include Performance Media (Google Ads and other forms of digital search and display marketing), CRM (email), Content Writing and Project Management.
Our intent is to expose you to as many different types of digital marketing skills as possible. Though we will ask how you like various things, we will also look at how naturally adept you are at each skill. Then we will assess the opportunity for this skill on our team, based on our projected workload. Most of those who have previously held this position have been promoted within 6-8 mos.
