Must be a US Citizen possessing a Secret or higher security clearance.
This role will be performed onsite in Huntsville, AL.
Summit TRC is seeking a highly motivated Automated Test Engineer to join our team. This role will design, develop, and maintain automated test capabilities used to validate system and subsystem software for UAS platforms. The ideal candidate will have a foundation in automation, software, and test environments including virtual machines and hypervisor-based configurations on Linux and Windows.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated tests in scripting languages and/or compiled code to exercise system and subsystem software
  • Work with software engineers, network engineers, and systems engineers to translate system and subsystem requirements into repeatable, automated test cases
  • Build and configure test environments, including automated creation and configuration of virtual machines, to support repeatable regression testing
  • Integrate automated tests into version control and software deployment workflows to support continuous regression coverage
  • Support Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs) and Post Test Reviews (PTRs) before and after formal test events
  • Troubleshoot installation and operational issues to clearly identify system bugs and communicate bugs to the appropriate development groups
  • Track test execution, coverage, and defects using industry standard test management and workflow management software

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field
  • 1+ years of experience
  • Active security clearance
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell
  • Experience writing and utilizing unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end automated tests
  • Experience with general software and network troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of Operating Systems (Windows/Linux) and command line
  • Knowledge of version control and modern software deployment techniques is a plus
  • Knowledge of virtual machines and hypervisor-based environments is a plus
  • Experience using network traffic analyzers such as Wireshark is a plus
  • Experience organizing test events is a plus
  • Experience creating automated systems is a plus
  • Experience writing technical documentation is a plus
