Job description

BlueHalo/AV is looking for a Senior Modeling and Simulation Engineer to join our team. The candidate will be capable of executing engineering tasks associated with supporting Combatant Command (CCMD) exercises with designing, building, and running modeling and simulations of ballistic missile defense systems and ballistic missile threats. The Engineer will execute planning, configuring, monitoring, and implementation of Missile Defense System (MDS) parameters into simulation software such as Missile Defense Advanced Simulation (MDASIM) and Extended Air Defense Simulation (EADSIM) to support distributive virtual and constructive exercises modeling BMD systems and ballistic missile threats.
Essential Functions - Support the technical lead in all aspects of MDS Wargames and Exercises modeling and simulation. Conduct System Engineering Integration and Test (SEI&T) element pre-test coordination, event execution, pre- and post-mission testing. Responsibilities range from conducting weekly planning meetings and technical activities involving diverse network and architecture configurations. The candidate will configure and conduct on-console support on designated modeling and simulation workstations that support CCMD and MDA BMD exercises. The candidate will assist with identifying risks and developing mitigation strategies.
Required/Desired Knowledge and Skills:
  • Experience with DoD Wargames and Exercises
  • Familiar with the DoD Joint Event Life Cycle process
  • Familiar with MDASIM, Open Systems Sensor Models (OSM), EADSIM or other M&S software
  • Software development experience desired
  • Must be a self-starter, able to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Able to configure and operate Windows and LINUX workstations
  • Experience in DoD test processes and/or test execution desired
  • Able to support alternative shifts on a periodic basis to execute warfighter exercises
  • Able to travel (up to 25%)
  • MS in Engineering / Computer Science field w/ 10 years+ relevant experience; a BS in an Engineering/Computer Science field w/ 15 years+ relevant experience may be substituted for the MS degree requirement
  • Secret clearance required
  • CompTIA Security+ desired

Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000
