Job Summary
Harvest Ridge Cooperative Charter School is seeking a student-centered, highly organized, and collaborative educator to serve as a Part to Full Time Virtual Academy Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year.
The Harvest Ridge Virtual Academy is a TK-8 independent study program that utilizes the Acellus Gold online curriculum. The Virtual Academy Teacher serves as the certificated teacher of record and is responsible for monitoring student progress, supporting families, conducting regular teacher-student meetings, maintaining required independent study documentation, and ensuring students receive a high-quality educational experience.
While Acellus Gold provides the core instructional curriculum, the Virtual Academy Teacher plays a critical role in coaching students, partnering with families, monitoring academic growth, providing intervention, and ensuring each student remains engaged, supported, and successful.
This position begins as a part-time assignment for the 2026-2027 school year, with the opportunity to expand to a full-time position as student enrollment in the Harvest Ridge Virtual Academy increases. The position is primarily remote, with occasional required in-person attendance for meetings, state assessments, professional development, school events, and field trips.
Compensation is based on a daily per-student rate, with a maximum caseload of 28 students.

The ideal candidate will:
-Hold a valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
-Demonstrate strong technology skills and the ability to effectively teach and support students in a virtual learning environment.
-Possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
-Build positive partnerships with students and families through regular communication and collaboration.
-Demonstrate knowledge of California State Standards, assessment practices, and California independent study requirements.
-Be self-motivated, flexible, and able to work independently while contributing as part of a collaborative team.
-Experience with independent study, homeschool, or virtual instruction is preferred.
-Experience with Acellus or similar online learning platforms is desirable.
