ABOUT OUR SCHOOLS AND POSITION:
The California Virtual Academies (a network of 9 public charter schools) deliver online/virtual home based instruction to TK-12 students in California. While our schools do offer some scheduling flexibility, students are still required to complete approximately 4-6 hours of coursework daily & log attendance (entered by their parent/learning coach and verified by the teacher).
The mission of California Virtual Academy is to provide an exemplary individualized and engaging educational experience for students by incorporating school and community/family partnerships coupled with a rigorous curriculum along with a data-driven and student-centered instructional model. Student success will be measured by valid and reliable assessment data, parent and student satisfaction, and continued institutional growth within the academic community.
The Engagement Coach supports student success through targeted outreach, onboarding, and ongoing support to increase student engagement, participation, and academic achievement. This position collaborates with students, families, teachers, staff, and administrators to identify barriers, connect students with resources, and support successful participation in the educational program.
