Fall 2026 Legal Intern, Criminal Law Reform Project Remote/Hybrid – New York City or Washington DC About the Role The ACLU seeks a Legal Intern in the Criminal Law Reform Project to support litigation and advocacy work focused on correcting systemic injustices in the criminal legal system. This is a part‐time, course‐credit only position open to U.S. law students who are currently matriculated and based in the United States for the entire internship. Team The Criminal Law Reform Project advocates for the constitutional and civil rights of those impacted by criminal legal systems. The team engages in litigation and advocacy to confront systemic government conduct that fuels the carceral state and police abuse, and to empower under‐resourced communities through approaches that advance fundamental rights for all. What You'll Do Assist the team in factual investigations, legal research, and writing to advance our litigation and integrated advocacy programs.
