Location: Tulsa, OK
Collaborates with: All departments
The Field Services Trainer is responsible for delivering technical, operational, and safety training programs that develop Field Service personnel into qualified, competent, and productive contributors. This position supports technician onboarding, field qualification, technical certification, recurring training requirements, and continuous development initiatives across the Field Services organization.
This role combines classroom instruction, hands-on field training, competency verification support, coaching, mentoring, and curriculum delivery to ensure employees can safely and consistently perform assigned work in accordance with company standards.
What You'll Do:
  • Technical Training Delivery
    • Deliver instructor-led classroom, virtual, and field-based training programs.
    • Provide onboarding training for newly hired Field Service personnel.
    • Deliver technical instruction related to:
      • ACIS systems
      • SCR systems
      • DPF systems
      • Electrical systems
      • Control systems
      • Instrumentation
      • Commissioning activities
      • Preventive maintenance procedures
      • Troubleshooting methodologies
      • Service documentation requirements
    • Conduct practical demonstrations and hands-on exercises.
    • Reinforce proper use of tools, diagnostic equipment, software platforms, and field procedures.
    • Promote standardized work practices across all regions.
  • Technician Development & Coaching
    • Coach technicians during field assignments.
    • Provide structured developmental feedback.
    • Identify performance gaps and recommend training solutions.
    • Assist technicians with progression through qualification and certification requirements.
    • Mentor developing technicians and support technical skill growth.
    • Encourage proper troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving practices.
  • Safety & Procedural Compliance
    • Promote safe work practices and compliance with company policies.
    • Reinforce proper PPE use, hazard recognition, and risk mitigation techniques.
  • Training Documentation & Recordkeeping
    • Maintain accurate training records and attendance documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement
    • Support continuous improvement of training materials, presentations, and practical exercises.
    • Promote consistency in training delivery and field execution standards.

How to Qualify:
  • 5+ years of Field Service, commissioning, troubleshooting, or technical support experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently deliver technical training programs.
  • Recognized technical resource within assigned specialty areas.
  • Prior experience mentoring technicians and supporting qualification activities.
  • Ability to develop or improve training materials and practical exercises.
  • Proven troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to coach and mentor technicians under guidance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in assigned systems and work processes.
  • Able to travel extensively.
  • Experience supporting customer-facing technical discussions that requires a working knowledge of:
    • Electrical systems
    • Instrumentation
    • Controls platforms
    • Service procedures
    • Field documentation requirements

Preferred experience includes:
  • 8+ years of Field Service, commissioning, troubleshooting, and technical support experience
    Advanced expertise across multiple product lines and technical disciplines.
  • Recognized subject matter expert within the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale training initiatives.
  • Extensive experience developing curriculum, qualification standards, and technical content.
  • Ability to support advanced troubleshooting, product improvements, and technical escalations.
  • Capable of influencing training strategy and organizational development initiatives.
