Job description

Do you enjoy visiting the Broomfield Recreation facilities. All employees receive a FREE pass!!. We are currently seeking instructors to cover a variety of classes as needed at both facilities

Salary Range: $24.13 - $32.65/hour The Pilates Instructor position is responsible for providing instruction in Pilates mat and/or Pilates Reformer for participants of varying levels of fitness, skill and ability. This position is also responsible for providing proper instruction that is appropriate for the various muscle groups of the body. Essential Required Tasks/Examples of Duties (Persons hired in this position must be able to perform all the essential tasks required by the position

The following statements are illustrative of the essential functions of the job and do not include other nonessential or peripheral duties that may be required. The City and County of Broomfield retains the right to modify or change the duties or essential tasks and additional functions of the job at any time. Examples of duties are not intended to be all-inclusive or restrictive.) Develops class content appropriate to the course description and level

Develops music playlists appropriate for the level of class being instructed. Leads the participant(s) in physical stretching and strengthening exercises appropriate for the level of the class. Provides appropriate warm-up and cool down.

Monitors the participant(s) and their ability while participating. Provides proper instruction for various muscle groups including mat or Pilates Reformer work. Interact with the participant(s) and demonstrate exercises or training activities that may include the following actions: stepping, bending, stretching, full body movement, etc.

Provides a safe class environment. . Operate equipment required by the position such as Reformers, Towers, Chairs, barrels, power circles, exercise bars, straps and rope systems.

Minimum Qualifications Training: Pilates Mat Instructor - Must possess and maintain a current recognized Pilates Mat certification. Pilates Reformer Instructor - Must possess and maintain a current recognized Pilates Reformer certification. Must possess and maintain a minimum of an Adult CPR certification.

Experience: Less than one year experience required in teaching Pilate mat or Reformer. Previous experience in Pilates is preferred. Years of related experience may be substituted for required education, however education cannot be substituted for the necessary work experience.

Candidates must meet the minimum required years of work experience. Necessary Special Requirements New hires must, as a condition of employment, pass the following pre-offer and post-offer/hire processes: in-person or virtual interviews, reference checks, background checks including local police check and sex-offender registry. Must be 18 years or older.

Must possess and maintain current CPR and Pilates Reformer certifications for continued employment. Working Conditions (The work environment characteristics and physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities and neuro-differences to perform the essential functions.) Work is generally scheduled in advance with classes or scheduled Monday through Sunday and may include early morning hours, afternoon hours and evening hours

Must provide a safe and enjoyable environment for the participant during instruction which includes a full range of physical activities including: adjusting equipment, bending, stretching, and lifting minimal weight.
