Job description

Schedule:
  • Full-time coverage (4 weeks per month)
  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • 1-hour unpaid lunch
  • Guaranteed 8 hours per day
  • Weeknight beeper call and 24-hour weekend beeper call
  • Combination of onsite clinic and virtual hospital call
  • Two weeks per month of onsite clinic with night/weekend call
  • Two weeks per month of virtual 24-hour hospital call
  • Two providers may be utilized to create full-time coverage
Practice Details:
  • Inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth responsibilities
  • Average of 10 patients per shift
  • Epic EMR
  • Hospital privileges required
  • No admissions required
  • No APP supervision
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary support staff
  • Stroke-certified facility
Required Qualifications:
  • MD/DO
  • Board Certified in Child Neurology
  • BLS Certification
  • DEA Required
  • AK License preferred, or ability to obtain an Alaska Temporary or Locums License
  • Fellowship preferred
Preferred Clinical Skills:
  • EEG interpretation
  • Brain death examinations
  • Lumbar punctures
  • Radiologic exam interpretation (unofficial)
  • Experience providing inpatient and outpatient pediatric neurology care
  • Comfortable with telehealth and virtual hospital call coverage
Additional Details:
  • Seeking one full-time provider or two physicians who can share coverage.
  • Coverage consists of:
    • 2 weeks per month of onsite clinic (8:00 AM 5:00 PM) with weeknight beeper call and 24-hour weekend call.
    • 2 weeks per month of virtual hospital call coverage, providing 24-hour remote call (no onsite clinic).
  • Ideal candidates are comfortable providing both onsite clinical care and virtual call coverage to ensure continuity of care.
