Job Description:

Chewy is seeking a Fulfillment Center Instructional Designer to join our Fulfillment Learning & Development team! This role is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining learning solutions that support team member and leader development, operational excellence, and key business initiatives across the Fulfillment Network. The Instructional Designer partners with business leaders and subject matter experts to create engaging, scalable learning experiences through instructor-led training, eLearning, video, job aids, and other performance support tools. Frequent independent judgment, project ownership, and collaboration are essential to driving learning outcomes that align with Chewy's Operating Principles and Fulfillment Center standards!

What You'll Do: 

  • Design team member and leader development programs in a variety of presentation methods and applications to appeal to adult learning styles.
  • Conducts needs analysis, planning, manages the design, development, and execution of manager training programs. Assesses and reports results. 
  • Ensure effective impact of our learning solutions by gathering feedback from participants 
  • Ensure learning solutions are as engaging as possible 
  • Partner with key collaborators to deliver customized learning solutions as appropriate 
  • Help ensure consistent learning methodologies are designed and scaled across our geographically dispersed workforce 
  • Facilitate training programs to support development of lead, manager, and specialty team roles in Fulfillment Center operations.
  • Build training plans and curriculum road-maps and determine project breakthroughs, forecasts completion dates; identify project risks and issues, devise contingency plans to mitigate risks, informs management of accomplishments, plans and deliver project summaries 
  • Leverage instructional design and content development tools to create high-quality learning experiences, including eLearning authoring tools, video production and editing software, animation tools, graphic design applications, learning management systems, and emerging learning technologies.
  • Benchmark standard processes and emerging trends to make recommendations on curriculum design, development, tools and technologies 
  • Consult with business units to assess learning needs, including scope; identify and propose appropriate delivery methods for new and existing training programs. 
  • Proficient in deploying learning content within an LMS Learning Management System.

What You'll Need: 

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field 
  • Three (3) years' of experience in developing and managing training required 
  • Experience creating instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), web-based training (WBT), eLearning, job aids, and performance support resources
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and Team Members.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and influence cross-functional teams and business partners.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and consulting skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Professional appearance and demeanor 
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into critical initiatives and drive them to successful outcomes 
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and talent development standards.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, LMS platforms, eLearning authoring tools, and multimedia technologies used to design, develop, and deliver engaging learning experiences.
  • Ability to be flexible to business needs and adjust/compromise plans as needed 
  • Position may require travel 

Bonus: 

  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) Human Resources, Training or related field preferred 
  • Certifications in leadership and executive coaching and facilitation of development programs (DDI preferred), leadership assessments, Change Management (Prosci preferred) and/or OD are all strongly preferred 
  • Previous experience in warehousing and/or other high-volume service-oriented industry 
 
The base salary range for this role is $75,500 - $113,000.00.
  • The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate’s relevant experience, education, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for 401k and a new hire and annual equity grant. C08+ positions may also be eligible for annual bonus.
