Job description

Omitron is seeking a skilled Cloud Solutions Architect to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. This role will focus on network architecture, security, and automation in GovCloud and classified cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud networking, hybrid connectivity, and security compliance within a DoD environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage secure, resilient, and high-performance cloud networks across AWS GovCloud, Microsoft Azure Government, and other cloud environments.
  • Configure, deploy, and optimize AWS networking services, including VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, and Security Groups.
  • Configure, deploy, and optimize Microsoft Azure networking services, including Virtual Networks (VNets), Virtual WAN, Virtual Network Gateway, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, Azure Route Server, Load Balancer.
  • Design and implement secure hub-and-spoke, Virtual WAN, and landing zone architectures to support enterprise-scale Azure cloud connectivity.
  • Implement hybrid and multi-cloud networking solutions by integrating AWS, Azure, and on-premises enterprise networks using AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, IPSec VPNs, Transit Gateway, Virtual WAN, and edge security platforms.
  • Design and manage cloud connectivity between cloud environments and mission partner networks using secure routing, segmentation, and redundant transport architectures.
  • Harden AWS and Azure networking environments to meet DoD cybersecurity requirements, including RMF, NIST SP 800-53, DISA STIGs, Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), and least privilege access principles.
  • Automate cloud network provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, including Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure Bicep, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex routing, connectivity, latency, VPN, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect, and cloud security issues across AWS, Azure, and hybrid enterprise environments.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to implement network segmentation, encryption, identity integration, secure access controls, and Zero Trust security architectures.
  • Develop and maintain cloud network architectures, implementation guides, engineering documentation, routing diagrams, security policies, and operational procedures supporting enterprise and classified cloud environments.

Minimum Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Security Clearance: Must have an active TS/SCI clearance
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: 5-7 years of hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud networking.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPNs, ExpressRoute, VNets).
  • Experience designing and implementing hybrid network architectures integrating cloud environments with on-prem networks.
  • Familiarity with DoD cloud security policies (STIGs, NIST 800-53, RMF, Zero Trust).
  • Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and security tools (Wireshark, CloudWatch, GuardDuty, VPC Flow Logs).
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, IPsec, firewalls, and network segmentation.

Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $190,000, depending on relevant experience, location, and other factors.
