Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for products/equipment, from concept through release and production support.
  • Translate requirements into electrical architectures, schematics, wiring diagrams, and interface/control definitions.
  • Select and specify electrical components (power supplies, sensors, actuators, connectors, harnessing, PCBA components, etc.).
  • Capable to repair PCBA's including soldering through hole, SMT, fine pitch components and wire
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation: schematics, BOMs, cable/harness drawings, wire diagram, test procedures, component libraries, and change orders (ECR/ECO).
  • Build prototypes and support lab/field testing; troubleshoot issues using appropriate diagnostic tools (DMM, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.).
  • Create verification and validation (V & V) documentation (DVP&R) and perform virtual and/or physical product V & V testing.
  • Support verification and validation by developing test plans & test fixtures, executing tests, analyzing results, and documenting conclusions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing on design-for-manufacture/assembly, wiring practices, work instructions, and transition to production.
  • Investigate and resolve production and field issues; perform root-cause analysis and drive corrective actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure designs meet applicable safety, EMC/EMI, environmental, and regulatory requirements as needed.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments (DFMEA), and project planning; communicate progress and risks.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related field).
  • Typically 4-7+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Proficiency with electrical design tools (e.g., OrCAD/Altium, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, KiCad, or similar).
  • Experience creating schematics, wiring diagrams, and electrical documentation packages.
  • Working knowledge of fundamental electrical engineering principles (analog/digital basics, power distribution, grounding, protection, sensors/actuators and transmission line characteristics).
  • Hands-on troubleshooting ability with standard lab instrumentation.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded processing in C.
  • Schematic and PCBA design and layout.
  • Familiarity with relevant standards and compliance (e.g., UL/IEC, NFPA 70/79, CE marking, EMC).
  • Experience with cable/harness design, connector selection, and environmental sealing practices.
