Job description

Swoon is hiring for our airline industry client in Chicago, IL and this role requires a hybrid schedule with onsite presence every Tuesday and Wednesday, plus every third Thursday.


This is a 6-month contract opportunity with potential for extension into 2027.


Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Learning Strategy Instructional Designer to join their Global Learning team. This role combines instructional design, facilitation, stakeholder management, and project management to create impactful learning experiences that support enterprise-wide development initiatives. The ideal candidate will be comfortable designing learning solutions from the ground up, facilitating training sessions, partnering with senior stakeholders, and managing multiple learning projects simultaneously.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop learning solutions across multiple modalities including eLearning, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (VILT), microlearning, job aids, videos, and performance support materials
  • Apply ADDIE and Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies to create learner-centered training experiences
  • Evaluate business needs and recommend the most effective learning modality based on learner goals and operational requirements
  • Manage multiple learning projects and workstreams while partnering with stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery
  • Facilitate training sessions, train-the-trainer programs, and instructor-led workshops as needed
  • Develop and maintain content using Articulate 360, Rise, LMS platforms, Qualtrics, and Microsoft Office tools
  • Create stakeholder communications, project updates, and learning program documentation
  • Track learning metrics, analyze participant feedback, and recommend improvements to drive program effectiveness
  • Review and optimize existing learning content to improve quality, relevance, and alignment with business priorities
  • Adapt quickly to evolving business needs while maintaining project timelines and stakeholder expectations
