Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking a licensed Psychiatrist to provide virtual addiction treatment services with a focus on Methadone/Buprenorphine prescribing for patients with opioid use disorder. The ideal candidate is passionate about addiction medicine, experienced in Methadone/Buprenorphine prescribing for treatment (not pain management), and comfortable working in a fully virtual care environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments for new patients to determine appropriateness for Methadone/Buprenorphine treatment.
  • Prescribe Methadone/Buprenorphine and other evidence-based medications in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Provide follow-up visits for medication management, treatment progress monitoring, and care plan adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the care team to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate treatment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Comply with all Medicaid, DEA, and Pennsylvania regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) with an active Pennsylvania medical license.
  • DEA certification with authority to prescribe controlled substances.
  • Medicaid-enrolled provider in Pennsylvania (or willing to complete enrollment).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience prescribing Methadone/Buprenorphine for opioid use disorder (not for pain management).
  • Strong knowledge of addiction psychiatry and MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment) standards.
  • Excellent communication and virtual patient engagement skills.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time: 2 hours per day (Monday–Friday) with the option to expand to weekends.
  • Flexible scheduling to accommodate provider availability.
