autoMHatic Financial / Tammac Holdings Corporation

Reports to: SVP Finance

Location: Wayne, PA - in-office, full-time

Supervise: Accounting staff

Role Overview

The Controller owns autoMHatic's accounting operations and month-end close end-to-end. This is a hands-on leadership role in a multi-entity, specialty manufactured-housing lending business with consolidated financial reporting. The Controller is accountable for an accurate, timely close; the consolidated financial reporting package; technical accounting judgment for a loan-servicing portfolio; and audit readiness. The Controller is expected to leverage technology and automation (including modern technology) to improve and scale accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End Close

  • Own the full month-end close from pre-close through hard close, hitting a 5 business day timeline
  • Confirm sub-ledger period-end processing including payroll, intercompany, and loan-level servicing entries
  • Complete balance-sheet reconciliations, post adjusting entries, and resolve sub-ledger-to-general-ledger differences

Consolidation & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare the consolidated trial balance across the company's legal entities, including intercompany eliminations
  • Generate the monthly financial reporting package
  • Lead flux/variance analysis on material movements and document explanations
  • Complete budget to actual reporting and work with executive team to document differences

Audit, Tax & Compliance Support

  • Maintain and enforce accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Own the fiscal year-end close (fiscal year ends March 31) and serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and tax preparers.
  • Support regulatory and investor-reporting accuracy in coordination with the compliance and investor-reporting functions.

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Leverage technology, automation, and AI tools to improve and scale the close, reconciliation, and reporting processes
  • Identify opportunities to streamline manual work, strengthen controls, and increase reporting speed and accuracy
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff as the team scales

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller capacity.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a multi-entity month-end close and consolidated financial statements.
  • Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge and technical accounting judgment
  • Experience with NetSuite or comparable accounting system
  • Advanced Excel skills such as power query

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA and a public accounting firm foundation
  • Experience adopting or implementing tech forward finance tools to support accounting operations
  • Consumer lending industry exposure a plus
