Position Overview
Direct Counsel represents a top AmLaw 100 firm seeking an Energy Regulatory Associate. This mission-driven practice handles high-stakes matters for independent power producers, large consumers, grid-edge companies, and transmission developers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Draft highly persuasive FERC pleadings.
  • Navigate Federal Power Act matters (Sections 203, 205, 206).
  • Advise on RTO/ISO market design and PURPA.
  • Manage compliance, enforcement, and generation interconnection.
Qualifications
  • 2–6 years of FERC or law firm energy regulatory experience.
  • Elite writing, research, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Superior academic credentials.
  • Plus: Experience with ERCOT, RTO stakeholders, or state regulation.
Compensation & Financials
  • Base Salary: $235,000 - $390,000 (Based on class year).
