Job description

DLI Instructional Coach

This is a professional level position reporting to the DLI Program Support Specialistย at the Utah State Board of Education (USBE). This position provides language-specific instructional coaching and program support to LEAs implementing Dualย Language Immersion (DLI) programs.

This role is focused on instructional support rather than administrative oversightย and is responsible for supporting educators and administrators in the effectiveย implementation of DLI programs. This job is unique to the USBE in that it providesย statewide, language-specific expertise and coaching across multiple LEAs.ย 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

  • Provide instructional coaching and support to DLI teachers andย administrators by language
  • Support effective implementation of DLI program models in participating LEAs
  • Assist in the development and delivery of professional learning for DLIย teachers and administrators
  • Collaborate with the DLI Program Support Specialist to align coaching effortsย with statewide priorities
  • Support LEAs in the selection and implementation of approved curriculumย materials
  • Provide guidance on instructional strategies that support dual languageย acquisition and content learning
  • Facilitate collaboration among DLI educators across LEAs
  • Assist with onboarding and support of new DLI teachers
  • Support statewide initiatives related to DLI program improvement
  • Travel to LEAs to provide on-site or virtual coaching and support
