This is a build role reporting to the President, with regular visibility to the Board of Directors and its technology oversight function.

What youll do
  • Lead the organization's technology strategy and oversee the successful transition of critical systems, platforms, and vendors.
  • Manage enterprise applications, including the member portal, mobile app, CRM, payment platform, and other business systems.
  • Direct cloud infrastructure, identity management, cybersecurity, and IT operations to ensure secure, reliable technology services.
  • Develop and maintain information security, HIPAA compliance, risk management, and incident response programs.
  • Oversee technology vendors, contracts, system integrations, and third-party service providers.
  • Establish and improve IT processes, including onboarding, offboarding, help desk operations, access management, and service standards.
  • Ensure business continuity through backup, disaster recovery, and data governance strategies.
  • Drive the organizations AI strategy by identifying opportunities to improve member experience, operational efficiency, and business processes while maintaining appropriate governance.
  • Build, mentor, and lead the internal technology team while managing departmental budgets and technology roadmaps.
  • Provide strategic technology leadership to executive leadership and the Board by reporting on initiatives, risks, security, compliance, and organizational readiness
Qualifications
  • 12+ years of progressive technology experience with 5+ years in senior IT leadership (VP, Senior Director, or Head of IT/CIO scope).
  • Experience leading a platform migration, carve-out, or vendor separation in a regulated or health data environment.

  • Working knowledge of HIPAA Security Rule requirements and risk-based frameworks (NIST CSF); experience standing up or maturing a security program.
  • Demonstrated vendor management across managed services, staff augmentation, and development partners, including offshore models.
  • Experience delivering AI or automation solutions in business operations, with a working grasp of AI governance and data protection in regulated environments.
  • Experience building teams and budgets from an early state; nonprofit or healthshare familiarity is a plus, not a requirement.
