Associate Attorney
A well respected civil litigation defense firm is seeking a motivated and skilled Associate Attorney to join its growing San Francisco office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney who thrives in a fast paced environment, enjoys meaningful responsibility, and wants to work alongside a collaborative team of experienced litigators.
About the RoleThe Associate Attorney will handle a diverse civil litigation caseload, including insurance defense, general liability, premises liability, catastrophic injury, and related matters. Candidates should be comfortable managing files from inception through resolution with appropriate support and supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a litigation caseload under partner guidance
- Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery responses
- Conduct legal research and prepare substantive briefs
- Take and defend depositions
- Prepare case evaluations and litigation strategies
- Attend hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences
- Communicate consistently with clients, carriers, and opposing counsel
- Assist with trial preparation and participate in trial when applicable
Qualifications- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active member in good standing with the California Bar
- 2+ years of civil litigation or insurance defense experience preferred
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills
- Experience with depositions, discovery, and motion practice
- Ability to manage deadlines and work independently when needed
- Excellent communication and client service orientation
