To thrive as a Virtual Athletic Trainer, you need expertise in sports medicine, injury prevention, and exercise prescription, often supported by a degree in athletic training or kinesiology and certification such as the ATC (Certified Athletic Trainer). What is a Virtual Athletic Trainer job?

A Virtual Athletic Trainer provides remote injury prevention, rehabilitation guidance, and performance coaching to athletes using video calls, apps, and online platforms. They assess movement, design training programs, and offer recovery strategies without in-person interaction. This role often involves working with teams, individual athletes, or fitness enthusiasts to enhance physical performance and reduce injury risk. Virtual trainers may collaborate with medical professionals and use digital tools to track progress.

What are the typical responsibilities of a Virtual Athletic Trainer compared to an in-person role?

Virtual Athletic Trainers focus on evaluating injuries, creating personalized training and rehabilitation programs, and monitoring client progress using telehealth technology instead of in-person interaction. Their daily tasks often include conducting video consultations, demonstrating exercises remotely, maintaining digital health records, and communicating regularly with clients to provide feedback and support.
