Senior Manager, Transportation Operations

McKesson Canada is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Senior Manager, Transportation Operations to lead transportation performance across Ontario's distribution network.

This leadership role is responsible for transportation operations, carrier management, compliance, capacity planning, financial performance, and continuous improvement initiatives. Reporting to the Director, Transportation, you will lead a team of managers, supervisors, and operational professionals while partnering across Distribution Operations, Customer Care, Quality, Commercial Operations, and third-party transportation providers to ensure service excellence, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead transportation operations across Ontario, ensuring service, safety, quality, and compliance objectives are achieved.
  • Execute regional transportation strategies aligned with business goals and customer commitments.
  • Drive operational performance through KPI management, carrier governance, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage departmental budgets, forecasting, transportation analytics, and cost optimization efforts.
  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships with carriers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, Health Canada requirements, quality standards, and company policies.
  • Lead, coach, and develop managers, supervisors, analysts, and operations teams while building a high-performing and engaged culture.
  • Support transportation network optimization, business growth, and future-state logistics initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 9+ years of transportation, logistics, distribution, or supply chain experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing people and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience leading transportation operations within a complex distribution environment.
  • Strong financial, analytical, and operational planning capabilities.
  • Experience managing carriers, service providers, and transportation performance programs.
  • Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and performance reporting tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical distribution, or other regulated industries.
  • Knowledge of CVOR, GDP standards, and Health Canada transportation requirements.
  • Experience supporting unionized operations.
  • CITT, P.Log, Lean Six Sigma, or related certification.

Work Environment

  • Regular travel within Ontario required (up to 25%).
