Opportunity Details
We are seeking a full-time Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist to join Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role offers a highly supportive clinical environment, strong multidisciplinary collaboration, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on adult inpatient behavioral health care while enjoying the lifestyle benefits of one of the Mid-Atlantic's most desirable coastal communities.
Quick Facts
  • Employment Type: Full-time or independent contractor
  • Schedule / Hours: Inpatient, Monday-Friday with shared call coverage as needed
  • Call: 1:4 weekends
  • Patient Volume: Varies by unit census and acuity
  • Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia
  • Practice Setting: Adult inpatient psychiatric hospital
  • Support / Care Team: Collaborative multidisciplinary team including nursing, social work, therapists, and administrative support

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive inpatient psychiatric care to adult patients
  • Perform psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses, treatment planning, and medication management
  • Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nursing, therapists, social workers, and support staff
  • Manage day-to-day clinical responsibilities and treatment team participation
  • Participate in discharge planning and continuity of care coordination

Qualifications
  • Board Certified / Board Eligible in Psychiatry
  • Active or eligible Virginia medical license
  • DEA registration eligible or current, as applicable
  • Experience in adult inpatient psychiatry preferred
