Job description

Job Title: Driver/Warehouse Technician

Compensation Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Direct Report: Production Manager

Job Summary: The Warehouse and Logistics Technician maintains organization, storage, and delivery of brewery products in the warehouse. Performs any combination of the following tasks to receive, store and distribute goods in the warehouse.  

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Executes the delivery of products within assigned delivery routes daily.
  • Performs warehouse functions including building orders, stocking delivery trucks, cleaning and maintaining equipment.
  • Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and have excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
  • Reports to Production Manager to execute warehouse tasks each day.
  • Complete all documentation and maintain accurate records and reports as required.
  • Facilitates the flow of products through the warehouse.
  • Building 12 packs and trays in preparation for placing finished goods in them. 
  • Efficiently repackaging product from case to case as directed.
  • Ability to operate electric and manual lifts and pallet jacks and move finished products & materials through the facility safely as directed. 
  • Inspect equipment and report mechanical issues as needed to the Production Manager.
  • Follow company policies & procedures, proper use of PPE, reflect organizational core values and strive to maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times. 
  • Possess basic mechanical abilities with problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervising Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Over the age of 21
  • Requires a clean driving record with no DUIs
  • A valid driver’s license for the last three years
  • Must be able to understand safety rules, Virginia ABC Alcohol Regulations, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures
  • Must have a flexible schedule and be able to work weekdays.
  • Must have the ability to multitask and solve problems.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and understand directions.
  • Must be willing to perform a variety of tasks as assigned.
  • Interest in self-development, willingness to learn, and ability to succeed in a team environment.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 1 year of experience in operating warehouse equipment
  • Certified to operate a Forklift
  • Good mechanical skills and understanding of machinery

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work in extreme cold, extreme heat, temperature changes.
  • Industrial noises.
  • Occasional exposure to wet conditions.

Travel Requirements:

  • Little or No Travel (<10%)

Lifting Requirements:

  • Ability to continually lift up to 65 pounds and able to move 160 pounds regularly.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk, talk, hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle or feel, push, pull, reach, crouch, kneel, crawl or bend, and perform repetitive motions of the hands and/or wrists.
  • High mental and visual attention required for planning difficult work methods and sequences to obtain size, shape, or physical qualities of product. AND/OR Extremely close visual attention such as making delicate adjustments to control high speed operations to exercise very precise muscular control.
  • Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift or maneuver kegs weighing up to 160 lbs, with the aid of equipment such as hand trucks or keg ramps. The role requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, and climbing in and out of the truck cab and cargo area throughout the day, as well as standing, walking, and working on ramps or uneven loading dock surfaces for extended periods. The Driver must be able to push and pull loaded dollies or pallet jacks, tolerate varying weather and temperature conditions (including walk-in coolers), and perform physically demanding work for a full shift (typically 8–10+ hours). Adequate vision and hearing are required for safe driving and warehouse navigation.
