Position Description
Position Summary
An Electrical Design Engineer is a member of our multi-disciplinary design team and will work along-side our engineering leadership. This Design Engineer will have opportunities to work on various types of renovation and new construction projects for commercial, multi-tenant residential and institutional building types, including health care, technology, utilities & education markets.
Essential Functions:
  • Drafting of electrical construction drawings including details, plans & sections.
  • Electrical load and energy calculations
  • Design of electrical power and lighting systems
  • Design of fire alarm systems
  • Selection of electrical equipment
  • Coordinating with other engineering and architectural trades during design
  • Develop construction documents in AutoCAD and Revit
  • Participate in developing details, equipment schedules and specifications.
  • Research and assesses building performance and other regulations.
  • Contribute to design discussions and carry design concept through to project drawings.
  • Contribute to sustainable design discussions and implement sustainable strategies.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other team members.

Position Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Aided Drafting
  • Minimum 8-years of experience working for a consulting engineering firm.
  • Ability to work with minimal assistance from senior staff.
  • PE not required but a plus.
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit experience required.
